  • 1 ½ head broccoli
  • 1.5 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • salt and pepper to season


Preparing Broccoli Rice:

  • Broccoli rice can be prepared in different ways, depending on the tools that you have at home. Here are our preferred methods:

Manual chopping

  • Use a chef’s knife to cut the broccoli florets into small pieces. Then repeatedly scoop your chopped florets into the centre of the cutting board to repeatedly chop until you achieve grain-sized pieces.
    This method takes the longest, but does produce great results.

Food processor

  • Cut the broccoli into 2.5 cm (1-inch) florets. Add florets to your food processor until 3/4 full, working in batches as necessary so that you do not overfill the processor.
    Pulse the broccoli until small grain sized pieces are formed, then scrape the sides of the bowl as needed.

Cooking Broccoli Rice:

  • Heat a large pan over medium heat, warm oil, then sauté the rice until tender, around 3-4 minutes.
