Tap into this energy source to enjoy the feeling of satiety from this fat fuelled coffee drink. Inspired by the original Bulletproof Coffee, made widely popular by David Asprey, our Carb Dodging Coffee is a coffee loaded with fats.
Simply made with your preferred coffee, (grass-fed) butter and MCT oil. MCT (medium-chain triglycerides) are fats found in foods like coconut or palm kernel oil. MCT fats metabolise differently than long-chain triglycerides (LCT) fats found in other fatty foods. In our Carb Dodging Coffee, the combination of MCT and LCT fats help you to feel full, reduce cravings and support your body in the conversion over to ketosis from glucose burning. We suggest starting off slowly with the MCT and increasing gradually. Be warned, it is like rocket fuel!

  • 240 ml coffee works much better with real coffee rather than instant
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1-2 tsp MCT Oil


  • Make coffee as you normally would.
  • Add ingredients to a blender and blend.
  • Open blender with caution.
  • Pour into a mug and enjoy!


  1. The end result will only be as good as the coffee you put in at the start. Personally, I make it in a cafetiere (french press). But whichever method you enjoy is fine.
  2. MCT Oil should be used with caution. It’s like rocket fuel. Start off slowly, with 1 coffee per day. Side effects of overdoing it can include diarrhoea or other gastric discomforts. You’ve been warned!
  3. Yes, you can adapt the recipe to suit your preferred fats, i.e. cream or ghee. MCT and butter are usually used together for the combination of Medium and Long Chain fats.
